BATON ROUGE - LSU Police said the suspect in a gameday rape at the university is on his was back to Louisiana after his arrest in Georgia.
Authorities in Atlanta picked up Albert Ford this week on an arrest warrant from LSU Police for aggravated rape. On Wednesday, Capt. Cory Lalonde with LSUPD said Ford waived extradition and was being transported back to Baton Rouge.
Investigators said Ford raped a woman in a portable toilet set up for the football game against Texas A&M. They said DNA at the scene was a match for Ford's profile, which was stored in a Georgia law enforcement database.
Ford faces charges of aggravated rape in Louisiana. Lalonde said they expect him to be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison sometime Wednesday evening.
