With low pressure chugging out of the Gulf of Mexico and across Southeastern Louisiana, we can expect a pretty good batch of showers today. Rain will fall steadiest and heaviest in the middle of the day. Since the storm is too our south, leaving us on the cooler, northern side of the system, the severe weather threat is diminished. Still, ample moisture in place may leave us with 1-2” of rain before the day is out. Ongoing rain and cloud cover will keep high temperatures cooler than yesterday, near 70°. For this evening’s LSU baseball game, showers should be wrapping up. Skies will remain mainly cloudy tonight, and the leftover low-level moisture will keep it a touch muggy with lows staying in the upper 50s.
