Rain, outages cause traffic changes for LSU game
BATON ROUGE - LSU announced they had to close several parking lots because of rain and other issues from Hurricane Isaac.
The grass lots G and O are both closed because they're waterlogged, while Lot L is closed because it's being used by a special needs shelter set up in the Carl Maddox Field House and the Pete Maravich Center. The Old Front Nine Lot and its overflow lot, as well as the Band Practice Field Lot, will also be unavailable due to water saturation.
The grass Levee Lots on River Road and the Hayfield Lot on Gourrier Drive are open and available, but LSU said some portions of those lots may be saturated.
LSU is emailing people with reserved passes in Lot G, Lot O/Grass and Lot L to provide alternative parking locations.
Power outages also knocked out electricity to several traffic signals at key intersections around Tiger Stadium:
- Highland at Chimes
- Stanford at West Lakeshore
- Stanford at Morning Glory
- Stanford at Hyacinth
- Dalrymple at May
LSU said Baton Rouge Police will handle traffic through some of those intersections Saturday afternoon.
