Rain causes all-day interstate delay
Traffic was backed up most of the day on Interstate 10 eastbound due to inclement weather Saturday morning, according to DOTD.
Showers came through Baton Rouge starting around 9 a.m. causing the initial delays. The traffic then continued well into the afternoon with cars and trucks backed up to the LA 415/Lobdell exit.
An accident near College Drive added to the congestion when lanes were closed. That incident was cleared by 3 p.m.
WBRZ News2 Meteorologist Robert Gauthreaux said that storms will diminish Saturday night into the evening hours. More rain is expected on Sunday.
