NEW ORLEANS - A missed field goal in the final seconds of the game costed Tulane a shot at overtime.

With the Wave down 24-21, Cairo Santos lined up for a 48 yard field goal to tie the game. It was good, but the Ragin Cajuns took a time out which nullified the play.

His second kick was wide left, securing the victory of UL-L.

The Ragin Cajuns scored the games first three touchdowns of the R+L Carrier New Orleans Bowl to go up 21-0 at the Superdome.

Nick Montana and former Capitol High star Terrence Broadway started at the QB spots for their respective teams after suffering injuries in the weeks before the bowl game.

Corey Trim returned a Montana interception 82 yards for a touchdown to put the Cajuns up 21-0 in the second quarter.

The Wave fought back and scored two touchdowns of their own to make the score 21-14 heading into halftime.

After an interception gave the Wave the ball at UL-L's 17 yard line, Tulane scored on a 22 yard TD run to tie the game.

A New Orleans Bowl record crowd of 54,728 was at the Superdome for the game.

Despite the loss, Tulane running back Orleans Darkwa was named MVP of the for scoring 3 TDs.
