Ragin' Cajuns add 22 on National Signing Day
LAFAYETTE - The University of Louisiana Lafayette added 22 people to the Ragin' Cajuns football roster on National Signing Day.
The university said 18 signees were high school commitments, and four were junior college additions. Head coach Mark Hudspeth said 15 received three stars or more from at least one recruiting agency.
"I am very pleased with the overall quality of players that we have added to the program today," Hudspeth said. "It will grade out as the most-talented class in school history, but the true test of their quality will be determined on the field in two or three years.
The breakdown of the signees by position included six defensive backs, four offensive linemen, and two each at wide receiver, tight end, running back, defensive line, linebacker and kickers.
Seven of the signees hail from Louisiana while the rest of the signing class comes from six different states and Australia. The Cajuns added five signees from Florida, four from Mississippi, two from Georgia and one each from Texas, Arkansas and Alabama.
