Ragin Cajuns accept bid to New Orleans Bowl
LAFAYETTE, La. - The University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns have accepted a bid to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, according to ragincajuns.com.
The game will be played Dec. 21 at 8pm at the Mercedes-Bendz superdome.
News of the Cajuns heading to New Orleans was announced shortly after they were upset by University of Louisiana-Monroe 31-28.
This will be the third straight year the Cajuns will represent the Sun Belt conference in the New Orleans Bowl.
The Cajuns have won the New Orleans bowl the past two years, defeating San Diego State 32-30 in 2011.
According to the New Orleans Bowl website, bowl saw a record attendance of 48,828 in 2012 for the Cajuns 43-34 victory over East Carolina.
Their opponent from Conference USA is still TBA.
