A cop who repeatedly smoked cigarettes inside the precinct house got fired after 17 years on the force in Newbern, Tennessee. Sgt. James Bishop got the axe last week for violating a 2007 city policy prohibiting smoking inside all municipal offices and buildings. The chief says he had complaints about people smoking inside the building and sent out a warning that disciplinary action could be taken. He says he continued to get complaints about Bishop and had to fire him.
