The dog is recovering. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals offers up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of those responsible. The puppy was found trying to dig its way out of the ground. Initially the dog could not stand and struggled to eat and drink and a veterinarian says the dog had swelling on its head and ant bites.
