The police jury in Pointe Coupee Parish will take up the issue of banning pit bulls tonight at five p.m. Police Juror Russel Young proposed the ban at a meeting earlier this month. He says there is one bite a week from dangerous breeds in the parish.

St. Mary Parish recently passed an ordinance restricting the ownership of pit bulls.
