PSC: Utilities cannot disconnect during freeze
BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Public Service Commission Chairman Eric Skrmetta says utilities cannot disconnect customers until temperatures rise above freezing.
Skrmetta says the order applies to both electric and gas utilities.
PSC regulations let the commission forbid utilities to disconnect even customers with overdue bills when high temperatures are at or below 32 degrees.
