A prosecutor for Merced County in California resigned when his superiors found out he had been working despite a warrant for his arrest that was a year old. Former Deputy D.A. Matthew Shelton was issued the warrant for not showing up in court for speeding and having a suspended license. Police alerted his office about the warrant two-weeks ago as he continued to handle cases, including a murder. He had also had his law license suspended in 2008 and continued prosecuting cases which may have broken laws.
