BATON ROUGE - The public had it's first chance to view the proposed maps for the East Baton Rouge school district Saturday.
It was only group of three people that showed up, but they wanted their voices to be heard.
" What disturbs me the most is that there are so few citizens out here when this is an opportunity for them to determine their own representation," said Mary Juneau, a concerned citizen.
The current school board has 11 members. If one of the five proposals are adopted, the school board could be cut down to seven to ten members.
Board members are set to vote on the proposals towards the end of July.
For those who missed the viewing, the maps are on the school district's website at schoolboard.ebrschools.org.
