The Livingston Parish Assessor's Office says the value of Livingston Parish property on the parish tax rolls rose about 5 percent since last year.
The value of commercial property rose 6.6 percent.
The value of business property rose 8.7 percent.
Assessor Jeff Taylor says the increase mainly represents new construction.
He says the numbers weren't affected much by changes in market value of buildings that were already on the rolls.
The total assessed value of property in the parish rose to $629.2 million.
