Probation officers find meth lab during visit
GONZALES - Probation officers in Ascension Parish said they busted a man operating a meth lab during one of their routine visits.
Scott Bateman was on probation for possession of methamphetamine and simple burglary. During their visit, agents said they came across methamphetamine lab and drug paraphernalia.
Narcotics detective and hazardous materials team safely removed the meth lab and disposed of the materials.
Bateman was arrested and charged with operating a clandestine lab, possession of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
