BATON ROUGE- Price gouging laws are now in effect, due to the state of emergency declaration by Governor Bobby Jindal in anticipation of Tropical Storm Karen.
Price gouging occurs when a seller prices goods or services, including gas and hotels, much higher than usual.
If you see anyone who is suspected of price gouging, you are urged to call local law enforcement officials, or the state Attorney General's office at 1-800-351-4889.
