Preparing for the freeze
BATON ROUGE- As the mercury drops in thermometers across the Capital City several folks began bundling up to beat the blustery weather.
"I usually bundle up, put on extra layers, extra hats, extra layers of clothing, to stay warm, I have some ear muffs, of course I don't have them on today, but I'm from the North kind of used to the cold but not in Baton Rouge," said Diane Drake, who was bundled up for the windy day.
Across the city other people began wrapping their exposed pipes and making preparations to bring their pets in, but for one person in Baton Rouge a pet is a source of warmth.
"My dog is like my own personal heater so I just keep her in my lap," said Sydney Szot, who was visiting the dog park in the cold.
Other folks used a little more unorthodox method to keep Jack Frost from nipping their noses.
"Of course I have a couple of jackets on, if it's night sometimes I go for a drink," said Benny Vargas, who was visiting Baton Rouge on business. "You know tequila keeps you warm, and a couple of shots of Patron or 1800 is pretty good!"
