HAMMOND- Friends and family of a man who was run over after the LSU vs. Alabama game gathered to seek help from a higher power.
A small crowd met at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, praying for Blake McKee's recovery and raising money for mounting hospital bills. McKee is in critical condition after the crash more than a week ago.
McKee was hit as he walked along Alvin Dark Ave. in Baton Rouge on game night. The car drove away as a second vehicle traveling in the opposite direction hit him again.
Police are looking for the driver of the first car, described as a 1999-2002 Honda Accord with front-end damage.
As the investigation continues, doctors are doing what they can to save McKee's life. Family members said at the gathering Monday night, his condition is still touch-and-go.
"Every once in a while he'll grab your hand. Every once in a while when they take him out of sedation he's given a thumbs up," said McKee's brother, Brad.
