Power restored to schools, all EBR public students return Thursday
BATON ROUGE - All East Baton Rouge Parish Public School System campuses will open for class Thursday.
A spokesperson for the district said power was restored to all campuses Wednesday, allowing administrators to ready buildings for students Thursday. All students should report to their regularly scheduled classes Thursday morning.
The district had to close schools the last two days following power outages lingering from Monday's severe storms.
But, while all schools have power, some students homes are likely still in the dark. As of this post, Entergy still had about 6,200 customers without power. Entergy updated its website, alerting those still without electricity that it may not be restored until Thursday night at 10 p.m.
