Power out, roads closed after morning storms
BATON ROUGE - Utility companies reported nearly 3,000 people were without power in southern Louisiana during Tuesday's storms.
According to Entergy, more than 2,000 homes are in the dark in East Baton Rouge Parish alone. Most of those outages are southeast of Baker. Entergy said lightning and downed trees were causing multiple problems.
Entergy also reported more than 500 outages in Ascension Parish, many of which were located around the Prairieville area. The parish's emergency management team also reported several road closures after the hard rains, but said just after 4 p.m. they were all back open again.
DEMCO reported only 250 outages in East Baton Rouge Parish and 233 outages in West Feliciana Parish Tuesday morning.
