Power lines, homes damaged during storm in Pointe Coupee Parish

LAKELAND, La.- Nearly 150 homes were without power after a storm damaged part of Pointe Coupee Parish along False River late Sunday night. 

Entergy worked to fix broken utility poles and power lines along LA-1. Utility crews restored power to the area around 2 p.m. today.

Many people who live in the area believe a small tornado hit their town. 

"I told my wife, I said, 'Get down, get down quick!' So she went in the bathtub believe it or not," John David said. "Then all of the sudden I heard a boom!"

Powerful winds tore the chimney off David's home. He also found several of his lawn chairs across the street on his neighbor's porch. 

Despite the damage, no one was injured in storm.
