BATON ROUGE - Postal officials say they’ve made significant progress in restoring mail service to residents of the Capital Area following recent historic flooding.

The Postal Service says huge strides have been made each day with USPS continuing to make progress toward ensuring customers receive timely, efficient and reliable mail service, including at temporary alternate locations.

Services listed below still have currently suspended service. Temporary locations for where mail can be received by affected customers in those areas is also listed.

- Denham Springs PO (70726): Alternate site at 140 Del Orleans with retail service and mail pickup Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30 pm and Sat 8:30 am-12:00 pm; access to P.O. Boxes will be available Mon-Sat from 7:00 am-7:00 pm (no retail or mail pickup). This Sunday, Sept. 4, is the last Sunday services will be available, from 10:00 a.m-3:00 pm, for mail pickup (no retail).
- Robert PO (70455): Alternate site at the Hammond PO, located at 105 NW Railroad Ave., Hammond, LA 70401; service available Mon-Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm and Sat 9:00am - 12:00pm.
- Springfield PO (70462): Alternate site at the Ponchatoula PO, located at 275 N 5th St., Ponchatoula, LA 70454; service available Mon-Fri 8:00am - 4:00pm and Sat 10:00am -12:00pm
- Tangipahoa PO (70465): Alternate site at the Kentwood PO, located at 601 Avenue E, Kentwood, LA 70444; service available Mon-Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm and Sat 10:00am - 12:00pm.
- Cade PO (70519): Alternate site at the Broussard PO, located at 4200 Highway 90 E, Broussard, LA 70518; service available Mon-Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm and Sat 9:00am - 12:00pm.
-Greenwell Springs PO (70739): Alternate site at the Zachary PO, located at 6001 Main St., Zachary, LA 70791; service available Mon-Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm and Sat 9:00am - 11:00am.
-Weyanoke PO (70787): Alternate site at the Saint Francisville PO, located at 5613 Commerce St. Francisville, LA  70775; service available Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm and Sat 9:00am-11:00am.

Customers are reminded by USPS to not go to the Baton Rouge facility at 8101 Bluebonnet Road to collect mail as there is no distribution from that location.

All temporary locations, including in Denham Springs, will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Other reminders for customers from the Postal Service include the following:

? All customers with an accessible box at their home address will receive mail in their box.

? Any customers who do not currently have an accessible box should come to the retail counter at the Post Office location currently serving as your temporary Post Office, and with proper photo ID, you can receive your mail.

? For Denham Springs customers whose boxes are not accessible, mail will be available (with proper photo ID) at the Denham Springs temporary trailer, located at 140 Del Orleans Ave in Denham Springs.
