Post-Christmas sobriety checkpoints planned for Livingston Parish
DENHAM SPRINGS - Sheriff's deputies in Livingston Parish said they and other law enforcement agencies will post sobriety checkpoints throughout the parish this weekend.
Deputies said the checkpoints are scheduled for Saturday night at undisclosed locations around the parish.
The sheriff's office said overtime for the deputies who conduct the checkpoints will be paid using federal grant money through the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
Deputies told motorists to drive carefully, obey the law, and not get behind the wheel if they've been drinking.
