BATON ROUGE - Owners of The Advocate, the daily newspaper serving the Capital City region, are in talks to sell the newspaper to a private individual.

The Manship family announced the discussions Friday.

The Manships also own television stations, including WBRZ TV Channel 2, the ABC affiliate for the region. Richard Manship said Friday the TV properties are not for sale.

No price was released concerning the newspapers potential sale.
