LIVINGSTON PARISH- There may be trouble brewing between Livingston and Ascension Parishes.

During a meeting last night, officials spoke about Livingston Parish filing a lawsuit against Ascension. The lawsuit is for the extension of a levee that could affect residents living on the Livingston side of the parish line. Leaders in Livingston Parish are worried the extension could push more flooding into their parish as Ascension continues to try protecting their land from high water events.

According to The Advocate, Livingston Parish President Layton Ricks is worried the controversial Laurel Ridge levee extension will worsen flooding on areas along the Amite River and Lake Maurepas.
