Portion of S. Harrell's Ferry Road to reopen this week
BATON ROUGE – After two months of delays, drivers and business owners in Baton Rouge were relieved to hear a portion of South Harrell’s Ferry Road is scheduled to be reopened this week.
Officials with the Department of Public Works said workers are planning to reopen one lane of the road in each direction between Jones Creek Road and O’Neal Lane this week.
That stretch of road has been closed since May 24 so workers can expand the roadway to four lanes as part of the Green Light Plan projects. It was scheduled to be reopened in August but was delayed because of bad weather and the unexpected relocation of several utility lines.
News 2 will have more about the impact this will have on that area of the city tonight on News 2 at 6 and 10.
