Port plans new building
LAKE CHARLES- The Port of Lake Charles will build a new administrative headquarters so that federal law enforcement agencies can take over the current building.
Port Director Bill Rase says the move to accommodate U.S. Customs and the Border Patrol at the port will take several years. He says the agencies will need to overhaul the building.
The port plans to build a two-story building for its administrative staff.
Border Patrol official William Hitchcock told the American Press that the agency has outgrown its current building in Lake Charles.
