Port Allen pedestrian killed in hit and run

PORT ALLEN - A woman was struck and killed by a car on LA Hwy 76 in West Baton Rouge Parish around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, according to Louisiana State Police Tpr. Jared Sandifer.
Denisce McCurley, 48, was walking partially in the roadway on LA 76 east of LA 415 when a car struck her. The vehicle then fled the scene, but pieces of the vehicle were located near McCurley's body. Troopers believe the car is either a Ford or Mercury passenger car.
A second vehicle struck McCurley, but that driver stopped to call 911. Troopers believe McCurley died after being hit by the first vehicle.
A sample of McCurley's blood was submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
