One of the biggest stars of Super Bowl XLIV was cornerback Tracy Porter, a native of Port Allen, La.
Porter, who grew up a Saints fan, effectively sealed the win for New Orleans when he stepped in front of Colts receiver Reggie Wayne to pick off a Peyton Manning pass and return it 74 yards for a touchdown.
The score put the Saints up 31-17 with 3:24 to go.
"The town of Port Allen has been behind me, and to get drafted back home to the Saints, they've also been behind me," Porter said. "I know my grandmother is watching this. I want to tell my grandmother I love you dearly and this one is for you, grandma. Words can't describe how I'm feeling right now."
Porter won a WBRZ Fans' Choice award while playing for Port Allen High School.
