Port Allen mayoral candidate arrested
PORT ALLEN- One of five people vying to be the city's next mayor was booked into jail on an outstanding warrant.
Larry Bell was arrested on a cruelty to animals charge by Port Allen Police. Details about the alleged crime were not released.
The mayoral election is set for next month.
Former mayor Deedy Slaughter is also running. She wants her job back after voters recalled her last year.
