Port Allen man accused of soliciting murder
PORT ALLEN - Louisiana State Police Detectives along with several other law enforcement agencies said they arrested a Port Allen man on Tuesday morning accused of asking a man to kill two people for him in Pointe Coupee Parish.
The arrest of 37-year-old Tommy Joe Gioele came after a man told the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office that Gioele approached him earlier this week and asked him to commit a pair of murders. After learning of the murder solicitation, State Police Detectives began making contact with Gioele via undercover telephone calls. After investigators gained enough information to obtain an arrest warrant, they took Gioele into custody at his Port Allen residence without incident in the early morning hours of Dec. 16.
He was booked into West Baton Rouge Parish Jail on two counts of solicitation of murder.
