PORT ALLEN- Firefighters from five different agencies worked for nearly five hours to extinguish a massive two alarm fire at Krawdaddys on LA-415 this afternoon.
The fire broke out just after noon at 1680 Lobdell Highway. Fire investigators said the fire started in the kitchen and quickly got out of control. When firefighters arrived, the fire was so large they called for more help. That's when firefighters from Baton Rouge responded and neighboring areas responded.
"We have used Baton Rouge and local areas for mutual aid several times being that we are a volunteer department we work close on the mutual aid system," Lobdell Volunteer Fire Chief Timothy Crockett said.
All of the utilities were cut off, and there was particular concern because the business also houses a gas station. The fire destroyed the building, but no one was hurt.
News 2 will have an update at 10pm.
