POLLOCK, La.- A Pollock woman who helped rescue 13 puppies who had been abandoned in the woods is now trying to find homes for them.
Debbie Knowles tells The Town Talk she cannot adopt the puppies because she already has four dogs and a three-legged cat.
The puppies were found on leased deer hunting property about 16 miles west of Olla last week. Knowles says the property "is in the middle of nowhere."
Officials say the Protective Animal Welfare Society is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who dumped the puppies.
