WALKER- Police have a warning for shoppers: watch valuables because people are snatching wallets, cell phones, prescription medication and other items of value from purses left unattended in store shopping carts.

Police said the brazen crooks are working in pairs.

"In the most recent occurrence, a woman distracted a shopper by asking for assistance reading the small print on the label of an item while a man took the shopper's wallet from her purse," a department spokesperson reported Wednesday.

Walker PD said the issues are not just in its town, but in numerous other locations across the region.
