Police: Teenager dies in early morning crash
BATON ROUGE - A 16-year-old boy died in a car crash after a vehicle carrying five people lost control and hit a tree, according to Baton Rouge Police.
Cpl. Tommy Stubbs identified the victim as Julio Gomez-Dominguez of Denham Springs.
The wreck happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Oak Villa Blvd. Stubbs said four other people in the car had moderate to serious injuries, but are expected to survive.
He said Gomez-Dominguez was not wearing a seat belt. Toxicology reports are pending to see if speed was the only factor in the crash.
