Police: Teen shot while handling gun

BATON ROUGE - Police said a teen shot himself in the face in what appears to be an accidental shooting.
Lt. Don Kelly with Baton Rouge Police said it happened last night around 10:45 p.m. at a home on Wells Street.
He said a 16-year-old boy was either handling a gun or being handed by a gun by another person when it went off, hitting the teen in the face.
A family member took him to a nearby hospital. Kelly said he had non-life threatening injuries, and they were continuing to investigate the matter.
