Police: Suspect arrested in 15th street shooting

BATON ROUGE - Police say they have arrested a suspect in the 15th street shooting that happened Friday night.

Officials say 18-year-old Corey Scott is charged with 2nd degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. He was arrested at around 9 a.m. Sunday.

According to authorities, Scott shot 18-year-old Marvin Thomas after a physical altercation while Thomas was leaving a grocery store.

The shooting happened at around 5 p.m. on the 1300 block of 15th street in Baton Rouge.

Thomas was from St. Gabriel.
