BATON ROUGE - Investigators asked for the public's help identifying a man they said was hit in the head and found lying in a Baton Rouge road this morning.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely with Baton Rouge Police said the man was in grave condition at a local hospital.

He said police found the man in the 6500 block of Scenic Highway around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. McKneely described the victim as a black male, about 5'8" to 5'10" tall and weighing 160 to 165 pounds. He said the victim had a low hair cut and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and Adidas-brand tennis shoes.

The victim also had gold teeth with two missing teeth in the front and two tattoos with the word "P-Dog" on his stomach and left bicep.

Anyone with information about the victim's identity should call the Violent Crimes Unit at (225) 389-4869.
