Police seek witnesses to deadly motorcycle crash
WALKER - Police in Walker asked any witnesses to a deadly motorcycle wreck this weekend near I-12 to come forward and help investigators figure out exactly what happened.
Captain John Sharp with Walker Police said Jonathan Dale Free, 30, of Denham Springs died in the wreck early Sunday morning. He said police found Free near his wrecked motorcycle around 3 a.m. along the I-12 West entrance ramp at Walker.
Sharp said Free was declared dead at the scene, and that police were initially contacted by someone who saw his wrecked motorcycle but didn't witness the wreck itself.
Police said the motorcycle Free was driving was a 1998 Honda Magna, dark red or burgundy in color. They asked anyone with information about the wreck or who saw Free Saturday night or Sunday morning near Walker South Road and the I-12 West entrance ramp call Walker Police at (225) 664-3125.
