One suspect in convenience store robbery turns himself in

BATON ROUGE - One of the suspects in a Monday robbery has turned himself in, according to police.

Police arrested Carlos Mejia in connect to a robbery at the Tortilleria Concenience Store at 13869 Florida Blvd.

The armed robbery occurred around 7:30 p.m. Monday evening. According to BRPD, two suspects entered the business, one armed with a handgun, and demanded money from employees. The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of money before leaving, police said.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

Mejia's bond was set at $75,000.

Police say the second suspect is 40-year-old Manuel Mejia. They describe him as a medium build Hispanic male, around 5'3", wearing a red skull cap and armed with a handgun.
