Police search for teen mother's killer
BATON ROUGE - A young mother is dead, and Baton Rouge Police are looking for her killer.
Angel Brooks' body was found overnight in an apartment complex on the 4100 block of Mohican-Crossover.
According to police the 19-year-old was shot several times and died near her front door. She left her two small children behind in the apartment.
Johnny Steel is the property manager at Brooks’ complex, and hopes this latest shooting will be a wake-up call for the neighborhood.
"She just had a baby. She was trying to get her own place you know. She hadn't been there that long she had been there about a month," he says. "In the few years that I've been a property manager here... I've seen more young women and men get hurt than in my entire life."
If you have any information about this shooting, call Baton Rouge Police.
