Police search for attempted murder suspect
BATON ROUGE - After a long standoff with Baton Rouge Police, attempted murder suspect 23-year-old Tedric Mcgee remains at large.
Officers responded to a shooting on Balboa Street off of Hyacinth Avenue near Starring Lane. Neighbors said they heard Mcgee and 23-year-old Sherale Seals arguing with other neighbors when Mcgee pulled out a gun.
The victim was able to wrestle the gun away from Mcgee and Seals, but eventually was shot in the arm while trying to run away. He was treated at the scene with minor injuries.
Baton Rouge Police SRT locked down the neighborhood, but were unsuccessful in capturing Mcgee.
Seals turned herself in on simple battery and aggravated assault charges. An unrelated warrant from last week revealed Seals was wanted for aggravated burglary, disturbing the peace, simple battery and theft.
Mcgee has an extensive criminal background including felony gun and drug charges, and police consider him dangerous.
"We have charges on him. We believe he is responsible for the shooting. And we'd like for him to come forward so the investigation can continue so we can get to the bottom of it," Sgt. Don Stone said.
Mcgee faces attempted second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon charges.
