Police say girl taken from park and assaulted
BATON ROUGE - Police asked for the public's help Monday identifying a car involved in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a young girl in Baton Rouge.
A BRPD spokesperson said on Dec. 13 a 7-year-old girl was playing at Gus Young Park when a man lured her over and grabbed her, forcing her into his vehicle.
Police said the man took the girl to an unknown location and sexually assaulted her.
Detectives said they were told the man is a 6-foot-tall black male with medium to heavyset build, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the assault. A vehicle seen in the area at the time was also described as possibly a gold or tan four-door Nissan Maxima.
Anyone with information about this crime should call the Juvenile Sex Crimes Division at 389-3853.
