Police say DNA linked man to woman's murder
BATON ROUGE - Investigators accused a Baton Rouge man of killing a woman last month after they said DNA evidence implicated him in her murder.
Police charged 25-year-old Rajeski Ford with second degree murder Friday in the death of 30-year-old Brooke Ashley Crawford.
BRPD said on Jan. 24 Crawford's partly-nude body was found in an open field near the 1500 block of Gracie Street. Police said at the time they thought she'd been shot the night before and died from her wounds.
Investigators said DNA evidence later linked Ford as the suspect, and he was arrested Friday. Police said the motive for the shooting is still unknown.
Officers said Ford would be booked into the parish jail later Friday evening.
