Police: Rumors of "serial killer" false
BATON ROUGE - Police said rumors spreading across social media Friday of a serial killer in Baton Rouge are false.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said today Baton Rouge Police had received many calls about the rumors, which they told people were not true. He said there was no evidence to support any of those rumors, and claims of women being found murdered near the LSU Lakes were also false.
The rumors spread through social media around LSU, where three people were recently arrested for a series of muggings around the campus.
LSU Police said Letravis Kittrell Duncan, 20, Larry Dynell Scott Jr., 17, and Jarvis Diquann Dawson, 19, are responsible for three attacks around or on campus Monday night.
