BATON ROUGE - Police identified the man shot to death last night on Baton Rouge's Ritterman Street.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said Derrick Alexander, 35, was found shot to death near 5315 Ritterman.

Police received the call around 8:55 p.m. and said when they arrived they found Alexander lying in the street, shot multiple times.

McKneely said the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. Anyone with information should contact BRPD Homicide at (225) 389-4869.
