Police plan to jail injured driver who killed 2
BREAUX BRIDGE, La. - State Police say they intend to arrest a man who struck three girls walking to school, killing two.
In a Friday news conference, troopers said that 32-year-old Jeremy Abraham was driving twice the speed limit when he hit the girls Thursday morning on a Breaux (BROH) Bridge street.
Fifteen-year-old Cornasha Flugence died at the scene while 14-year-old Kylee Henry died on the way to the hospital. Surviving was 13-year-old Niya Flugence, the sister of Cornasha. She's in stable condition at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
Abraham was taken to a Lafayette hospital where he was in critical condition. Troopers were guarding him and plan to take him to jail on charges including two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular injury.
