Police: Overnight homicide under investigation
BATON ROUGE - A man was shot to death in Baton Rouge late Saturday night and police are still looking for the gunman.
Travis Denzel Polk, 21, was killed on the 3200 block of Mission Street which is just south of Winbourne Avenue.
Baton Rouge police say Polk was shot in the chest multiple times. He was sitting in a lawn chair under the carport at the house when he was gunned down.
Officials say he died at the hospital Sunday morning.
Homicide detectives are still investigating the case. No word on yet about a potential suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crime Unit at 389-4869.
