Suspect arrested in deadly shooting
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested the man who investigators said shot and killed a Baton Rouge man at an apartment complex Tuesday night.
Investigators arrested Eric Johnson, 25, on suspicion of second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
Police named Johnson as a suspect earlier Wednesday, and investigators said they later got a tip as to his location. Members of the Special Response Team arrested Johnson in the 3200 block of Plank Road.
Detectives said Johnson walked up to 28-year-old Kedrick Ricard in a parking lot on North Ardenwood Dr. and fired several shots at him Tuesday night. Ricard was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police said Johnson would be booked into the parish prison later Wednesday evening.
