KENNER, La. - Kenner Police Chief Steve Caraway says an anxiety-filled woman killed her three daughters, then turned the gun on herself.
Caraway said on Thursday that 29-year-old Nadia Braxton's pastor told investigators that she was suffering from depression and trying to find help before the shooting Tuesday.
The coroner's office found gunpowder residue on Braxton's hands.
Police say Braxton shot her three daughters, aged 12, 18 months, and six months old. The children were lying across a bed with Braxton lying on top of them.
The children's father found their bodies when he came home from work.
